On the 11th and 18th of November, the Upwood Primary School Football team, played in the Autumn Term Tournament. It comprised of two matches against Gt. Paxton Primary School, one away at their ground, and another here at home. The results were combined, giving an aggregate score, and an overall winner.
The team played extremely well, both away at Gt. Paxton and at home. There were many passages of play where we had control of the game and the football on display was a pleasure to watch. Unfortunately, Gt. Paxton came away 3-0 winners in the first match and also won the return leg, 3-1. Resulting in a 6-1 loss over the two matches.
Upwood Primary School are extremely proud of the football team and the score-line is not a fair reflection of the ability, hard work and perseverance they displayed. As runners-up in the competition, the players all received medals and will now be entered into the Cambridgeshire County Small Schools Finals (7-a-side) in the Spring Term. Super job everyone!

Children from Years 5 and 6, at Upwood Primary School, took part in the Cross Country Relay Championships at Priory Park, St Neots, on Thursday 21st April 2016. The event included hundreds of children from the catchment area. The children worked extremely hard both on the day and during training sessions (since January)!
This year, the two teams of girls came 80th and 100th. The three teams of boys came 78th, 107th and 124th. The children that took part should be extremely proud of themselves as they each had to run a distance of 1.2 kilometres without stopping! Thank you to all the parents who came along to support the event; it was really lovely to have you all there.
