Year 2 have had a fantastic start to the year so far! They have been working incredibly hard on their new topic of ‘The Wind in the Willows’, where they have written letters to Mole’s mum and their own animal adventure stories. Also, they have created wonderful pieces of art work related to the settings and characters found within the story.
During this half-term, Year 2 have been working hard on their writing. We have explored how to make our sentences more interesting by including similes to describe something. What a busy beginning of term we have had in Year 2! We have been learning all about the Great Fire of London, writing explanations, 2d and 3d shapes and different features of plants and trees. In Science, we ventured outside to observe some of the trees in the school grounds to view the differences between trees.
